The Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick New Bedford is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Tim Nelson, a cherished and long-standing member of the organization. Tim devoted countless hours of service as an Officer and a member of the Board of Directors, consistently demonstrating unwavering dedication to the group and its mission.
Tim was known for his commitment to volunteering, never missing an opportunity to support events or simply attend gatherings to share in the camaraderie that defines the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick. Colleagues and fellow members recall his purposeful participation in meetings, always prioritizing the best interests of the organization and its community. His presence and guidance left a lasting impact on both the organization and its members.
Funeral arrangements have been announced as follows:
- Visiting Hours: Thursday, August 14th, 4:00–7:00 PM
- Funeral Service: Friday, August 15th, 9:30 AM at Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford
- Burial: Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, with full military honors

For members attending services, the uniform of the day will be: Blue Blazer, Grey Pants, White Shirt, and Friendly Sons’ Tie. Members are asked to meet in the parking lot at 5:45 PM and enter the building promptly at 6:00 PM.
