Barrie, Ontario – Authorities north of Toronto have apprehended a suspect in connection with the shocking murder and dismemberment of two men, following an investigation that began earlier this year. The victims have been identified as 45-year-old William (Blake) Robinson and 41-year-old David Cheesequay. Police described both men as well-known in the area, and their deaths have left family, friends, and the community reeling.
Barrie Police confirmed that the investigation was launched after a missing person report prompted searches at multiple locations, including a property in Huntsville, Ontario, a residence in North Simcoe County, and a wooded area in Barrie known for a sizable homeless encampment. During these searches, investigators recovered critical evidence, including human remains, and conducted witness interviews that helped shed light on the circumstances surrounding the two deaths.
A 52-year-old male suspect initially detained in early August has now been formally charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as two counts of indignity to a dead body. Authorities also report that the suspect faces additional charges including firearms and drug trafficking violations, and theft-related offenses. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Friday.
Police emphasize that this is an ongoing investigation, and they are continuing to follow leads to ensure all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined. Officials have asked anyone with information to come forward to assist law enforcement in bringing clarity and justice to the families of the victims.
The Barrie Police Department expressed condolences to the families of William Blake Robinson and David Cheesequay, acknowledging the profound impact these violent crimes have had on their loved ones and the community.
This case highlights the importance of public vigilance and cooperation with authorities, as the investigation into this tragic and disturbing incident continues.
