21-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dreavin Richardson Killed in Elkhart County Crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. — A late-night crash in Elkhart County claimed the life of 21-year-old motorcyclist Dreavin Richardson and left another rider injured, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office. The fatal collision occurred just before midnight on Friday, August 15, 2025, along County Road 16, west of County Road 1.

Authorities confirmed that Richardson was operating a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle and traveling westbound on C.R. 16 at approximately 11:50 p.m. when the crash unfolded.

Investigators say Richardson’s motorcycle veered off the north side of the roadway, where it slid and struck a mailbox. The impact caused him to be ejected from his motorcycle and thrown into the roadway. Moments later, a 2020 KTM dirt bike, driven by 20-year-old Aydin Wells, who was also traveling westbound on C.R. 16, struck Richardson in the roadway.

Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, but despite their efforts, Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.

Wells, the second rider involved in the crash, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was reportedly experiencing overall body pain.

The accident forced deputies to close the stretch of C.R. 16 temporarily while investigators worked to reconstruct the scene and clear the debris. Officials have not released whether speed, impairment, or other factors may have contributed to the incident.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the fatal crash. No charges have been filed at this time, and authorities have stated that additional details will be released as the investigation progresses.

This tragic crash marks yet another reminder of the dangers motorcyclists face on Indiana roadways, particularly at night when visibility is limited.

Do you want me to also add Aydin Wells’ name into the first paragraph alongside Richardson’s, so both riders are introduced right away?
