Fatal Traffic Crash in Pasco County Claims Life of 8-Month-Old Child

Pasco County, FL – Tragedy struck early Saturday morning on US-19 in Pasco County when 8-month-old lost his life in a fatal traffic crash. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the collision occurred at approximately 1:36 a.m. on August 16, 2025, just north of Flora Avenue.

Investigators reported that a Chevy Silverado, driven by a 32-year-old man from Clearwater, was traveling southbound on US-19 when it overtook an Audi sedan driven by a 27-year-old man from Gibsonton. The Audi was reportedly slowing or stopped for other traffic at the time. The Silverado failed to slow or stop and struck the rear of the Audi, causing a devastating impact.

Tragically, the Audi carried [Child’s Name], the son of the Audi’s driver, who was properly secured in a rear-facing car seat. Despite emergency responders’ immediate attention, the infant sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the Silverado driver, identified as [Name] Bravo, was determined to be impaired at the time of the crash, with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.089, slightly above the legal limit. Bravo was arrested at the scene and taken into custody for investigation.
