North Charleston Man Arrested After Turning Himself In on Orangeburg County Murder Warrant

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — Authorities in North Charleston confirmed that a man wanted in connection with a murder case in Orangeburg County voluntarily turned himself in on Friday morning. The suspect, 20-year-old Zaquan Shaquez Jamison, was taken into custody without incident after contacting law enforcement to surrender.

According to police reports, Jamison called Charleston County dispatch early Friday and identified himself, stating that he wished to turn himself in for outstanding warrants. A background check conducted by the department revealed that Jamison was facing multiple charges, including murder, several counts of attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Authorities also flagged him as armed and dangerous.

Officers arrived at a residence on Evanston Boulevard, where Jamison exited the home and complied with all commands given by law enforcement. He was immediately detained and held at the Al Cannon Detention Center before being transferred into the custody of the Santee Police Department, which is handling the ongoing investigation related to the Orangeburg County case.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that Jamison’s voluntary surrender allowed the arrest to occur safely and without further risk to the community. They also praised the coordination between the Charleston County dispatch, North Charleston police officers, and the Santee Police Department in ensuring a smooth apprehension.
