Robinsonville, MS – A heartbreaking act of violence has left the Robinsonville community in shock after 30-year-old Nykeria Jude was fatally shot Friday evening in what authorities are describing as a triple shooting. Her 6-year-old daughter, Marlaysia Braxton, was critically injured and airlifted to a children’s hospital, while a 24-year-old man was also wounded and taken to the hospital for emergency care.
Deputies with the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 7:06 p.m. at 1060 Soleil Drive, where they found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Nykeria Jude was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Marlaysia, her daughter, was flown to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis with life-threatening injuries. The 24-year-old male victim, whose name has not yet been released, was transported to Regional One Health for treatment.
Authorities have named Markello Braxton, a resident of Robinsonville, as the prime suspect. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. Law enforcement officials urge the public to share any information that may assist in his capture.
