Fatal Motorcycle Crash in St. Francois County Claims Life of Park Hills Teen

A tragic accident in St. Francois County Wednesday evening has left one young man dead, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) Troop C. The fatal crash occurred on August 13, 2025, at approximately 5:37 p.m. on Loughboro Road near Ritter Creek.

Investigators say the incident involved a Suzuki VS1400GLP motorcycle operated by an 18-year-old male from Park Hills. According to the preliminary crash report, the motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve along the roadway, causing the bike to overturn. The motorcycle then crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and was struck by a Ford Fusion traveling in the opposite direction.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but the impact left the motorcycle rider with critical injuries. He was pronounced deceased on scene at 5:53 p.m. by St. Francois County Coroner’s officials. His name has not yet been publicly released pending family notification.

The driver of the Ford Fusion was reportedly uninjured in the collision.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash, including road conditions and possible contributing factors. Loughboro Road, a rural route known for its curves and limited visibility in some areas, was temporarily closed to allow troopers to conduct a full scene reconstruction.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by local fire and EMS crews. Officials are reminding motorists—especially motorcyclists—to exercise extra caution on winding roads, maintain safe speeds, and always wear proper safety gear.

This marks yet another tragic reminder of the dangers motorcyclists face on Missouri roads. Friends and neighbors in Park Hills are mourning the young man’s loss, remembering him as a vibrant and promising individual whose life ended far too soon.
