Jacksonville Community Mourns Loss of Beloved Neighbor Sheila Campbell, Investigation Underway

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) confirmed that the woman found dead in her Atlantic Beach home on August 2 has been identified as Sheila Campbell, a beloved mother to her son, Paul Campbell. Sheila, believed to be in her 70s, was discovered unresponsive by a concerned neighbor at her residence on Sailfish Drive. The Atlantic Beach Police Department (ABPD) responded to the scene around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday to assist with the investigation.

Authorities reported that one individual was detained for questioning, though no arrests or charges have been confirmed at this time. The circumstances surrounding Sheila Campbell’s death remain under active investigation, with JSO and ABPD working closely together to determine the cause and details of the incident.
