With deep sadness and hearts full of both grief and gratitude, the family and community of Hartwell, Georgia, mourn the untimely passing of Mychail Oglesby, who left this world on July 16, 2025, at just 23 years old. Mychail’s passing is a profound loss not only to their immediate family, but to all who had the privilege of knowing their warm heart, radiant smile, and generous spirit.
Born and raised in Hartwell, Mychail was a beacon of kindness whose presence lit up every room they entered. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing laughter with friends, or standing up for others, Mychail’s compassion and authenticity made a lasting impression. Their ability to connect with people from all walks of life was truly special, and their memory will forever live on in the stories and hearts of those they touched.
Mychail is survived by their loving parents, Michael and Keisha Oglesby, who nurtured and supported them with unwavering love. Also mourning this tremendous loss are Mychail’s cherished siblings, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and neighbors who considered them family in every sense of the word.
In this time of sorrow, the community of Hartwell is coming together to celebrate the beautiful life Mychail lived. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th, offering family and friends an opportunity to gather in remembrance and support. The funeral service will follow on Saturday, July 19th, at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, where loved ones will share stories, prayers, and tributes in honor of Mychail’s life and legacy.
The Oglesby family has invited the public to attend these services and join in the celebration of a soul gone too soon, but never forgotten. As they move through this time of heartbreak, they are deeply grateful for the prayers, kind words, and support from the community.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those wishing to honor Mychail’s memory to consider acts of kindness in their name—whether that’s helping a neighbor, reaching out to someone in need, or simply choosing to live with the compassion and joy that Mychail so effortlessly embodied.
