AJPD and SFMD Respond to Fatal Early-Morning Collision in Apache Junction

Apache Junction, AZ — July 19, 2025 — In the quiet early hours of Saturday morning, tragedy struck a residential neighborhood in Apache Junction when a deadly single-vehicle crash claimed the lives of two people. The Apache Junction Police Department (AJPD) and Superstition Fire & Medical District (SFMD) responded swiftly to the emergency call, but despite the efforts of first responders, both victims succumbed to their injuries.

The incident occurred shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, near the intersection of Idaho Road and 16th Avenue. A 911 call reported that a pickup truck had crashed into a block wall surrounding a home in the area. Responding officers arrived within minutes, joined by firefighters and paramedics from SFMD.

At the scene, authorities located two adult occupants inside the heavily damaged truck—one male and one female. Both individuals were in critical condition and were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for emergency care. Tragically, both were later pronounced dead as a result of their injuries.
