ATLANTA, GA – July 19, 2025 — A community is in mourning after 29-year-old D’Anthony Reaves was shot and killed early Saturday morning in downtown Atlanta. The Atlanta Police Department confirmed that officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 200 block of Forsyth Street SW around 5:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, police discovered Reaves suffering from multiple gunshot wounds — two to the face and one to the arm. He was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the rapid response by emergency services. Balloons, candles, flowers, and handwritten notes covered the sidewalk where he died, as loved ones prayed, cried, and called for justice.
