We are extremely sad to share that one of our longest serving Front Desk Mates and dear friend, Gordon Ross, passed away earlier yesterday
To say we are heartbroken is an understatement. Gordon was a Key West legend. He had called the island home for over 50 years. He was the best at
telling stories and had an even better spirit. His sassy personality was unmatched and he will be dearly missed. We encourage you to leave your favorite moments/pictures/memories with Gordon in our comments.
Gordon was more than a performer, he was a pillar of Key West’s cultural and nonprofit world. From acting, singing, and storytelling to his tireless work with countless local organizations, Gordon brought joy, talent, and generosity to everything he touched.
For over a generation, he helped define the spirit of this island. His voice, presence, and passion will be deeply missed, not just by those who knew him, but by anyone who has ever experienced the vibrant community he helped build.
The island feels smaller without him.
Gordon Ross passed away recently, leaving behind cherished memories for family and friends. Their presence will be missed deeply in the community of Key West, where they had a significant impact on those around them.
