Media Release: Man Arrested for Kidnapping, Sexual Assault – Investigators Seek Additional Victims

Washington County, Oregon – July 25, 2025 – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 58-year-old Dru Hendrix in connection with a deeply disturbing case of kidnapping and multiple sex crimes. Authorities believe there may be additional victims and are urging members of the public who may have information to come forward.

Initial Report and Investigation

On July 21, 2025, deputies began investigating a sexual assault case after a 20-year-old woman reported being held against her will and sexually assaulted inside a residence located on SW Applegate Drive in Aloha. The victim did not know the suspect prior to the incident.

Deputies quickly turned the case over to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit, which immediately launched a comprehensive investigation. Through the course of their inquiry, detectives identified the suspect as Dru Hendrix, who lived at the home where the alleged assault occurred.

As detectives gathered more evidence, they uncovered another horrific allegation: Hendrix also sexually assaulted an elderly man—believed to be in his 80s—within the same residence.

Arrest and Search Warrant Execution

In the early morning hours of July 22, 2025, the Washington County Tactical Negotiations Team and the Crisis Negotiations Unit assisted detectives in safely executing a search warrant at Hendrix’s home. Hendrix was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Washington County Jail.

Charges Against Dru Hendrix

Hendrix is currently being held without bail, pending a preventative detention hearing, and is facing the following charges:

  • Three counts of Sodomy in the First Degree
  • Two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree
  • Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree
  • Kidnapping in the First Degree
  • Attempt to Commit Compelling Prostitution
  • Probation Violations, including previous offenses for stalking, attempting to elude police, and being a felon in possession of a weapon

Additional charges are expected as the investigation progresses. Detectives have also noted that Hendrix is currently facing an open case in Columbia County stemming from an arrest in 2024.

Concerning History and Pattern of Behavior

Investigators have discovered that Hendrix has been the subject of numerous complaints over the past 15 years, primarily involving stalking and reports of inappropriate messages and behavior directed at women. These incidents were rarely prosecuted, though some led to stalking and restraining orders that remain active.

Hendrix was formerly the owner of Hendrix Motor Company, an auto repair shop based in Portland. Several customers and former employees have alleged that Hendrix frequently harassed women at the business, and many described his behavior as predatory. These past reports are now being reexamined in light of the current charges.

Call for Additional Victims and Public Assistance

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office believes there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward due to fear, shame, or a belief that their stories would not be taken seriously. Detectives are asking anyone with information related to Dru Hendrix or past incidents involving him to contact investigators as soon as possible.

Anyone with information is urged to call 503-846-2700 and reference case number 50-25-10089.

In accordance with Oregon House Bill 3273, Hendrix’s booking photo has been released for law enforcement identification purposes, specifically to help determine whether additional crimes may have been committed by the suspect.

Statement from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office

“This case is deeply troubling—not only because of the crimes committed, but because of the long-standing history of concerning behavior that appears to have been overlooked or minimized for years,” said a spokesperson for the Violent Crimes Unit. “We are committed to ensuring that every survivor has a voice, and that anyone responsible for these acts is held accountable.”
