TOWN OF STANTON, Wis – A devastating motorcycle crash on Saturday morning has claimed the life of 34-year-old David K. Decker, a resident of Somerset, Wisconsin. The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies were dispatched to the scene of the crash in the 1600 block of County Trunk Highway H in Stanton Township shortly after 7:00 a.m. on July 26, 2025.
When law enforcement arrived, David Decker was found unresponsive at the scene. Despite immediate response by emergency personnel, Decker was pronounced dead at the location.
Preliminary findings indicate that David Decker had been traveling westbound on CTH H when he lost control of his motorcycle near 170th Street. The motorcycle left the roadway, entered the north ditch, and rolled over several times, ejecting Decker in the process. No other vehicles were involved.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. It is not yet known if speed, road conditions, or mechanical failure contributed to the accident. The Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting with accident reconstruction as the investigation remains ongoing.
The St. Croix County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the crash site and confirmed David Decker’s death. Officials say a complete investigation will be conducted to determine all contributing factors.
David K. Decker is being remembered by friends and family as a vibrant and adventurous individual. His unexpected passing has deeply impacted the Somerset community, where he was well known and respected.
