Tragic Crash on Muskogee Turnpike Claims Lives of Hannah Ford and Megan Herrold; Four Children Injured

MUSKOGEE COUNTY, OKLA. – A devastating two-vehicle crash on the Muskogee Turnpike Saturday morning has claimed the lives of 31-year-old Hannah Ford of Osborn, Missouri, and 39-year-old Megan Herrold of Fort Smith, Arkansas. The collision, which occurred around 10:30 a.m., also left four young children injured and hospitalized.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), the crash involved a Honda Sedan driven by Hannah Ford and a Ford Expedition operated by an unnamed 29-year-old woman. At the time of the crash, four children under the age of 7 were passengers in the Ford Expedition.

OHP reports that all four children were properly restrained in car seats and were transported to St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee with injuries that remain undisclosed. The driver of the Expedition also sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Her name has not yet been publicly released.

Hannah Ford and her passenger, Megan Herrold, were both tragically pronounced dead at the scene by Muskogee EMS. Authorities confirmed that all individuals involved — both drivers and all passengers — were wearing seatbelts or appropriate restraints at the time of the incident.

While the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, authorities are working to determine whether any environmental, mechanical, or driver-related factors played a role. No charges have been filed, and officials have not indicated whether impairment or distraction may have contributed.
