MEMPHIS, Tenn. (July 27, 2025) — A devastating crash on Interstate 40 near Danny Thomas Boulevard has left the Memphis community in shock after a late-night collision claimed the life of Nickalya Nicholee and left Tre Tre Carter and Kááy Díor Mitchell injured early Sunday morning.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred shortly after midnight in the westbound lanes, prompting an immediate response from Memphis Police and emergency personnel. The roadway was shut down for hours as crews tended to the injured, cleared wreckage, and launched an investigation into what led to the deadly incident.
Out of the five individuals involved in the crash, three victims have been publicly identified by family and friends:
- Nickalya Nicholee – tragically pronounced deceased following the crash
- Tre Tre Carter – injured and currently recovering
- Kááy Díor Mitchell – also injured and receiving treatment
According to friends and family, one of the individuals did not survive the crash. While authorities have not yet officially released the name of the deceased, several close sources confirmed that Nickalya Nicholee tragically died at the scene or shortly thereafter due to the severity of her injuries.
A Night of Tragedy
