Edward Jenkins Charged with Manslaughter in the Fatal Shooting of Levi Mobley Jr. in Port Gibson

Port Gibson, Mississippi — A deadly shooting on Saturday, July 12, 2025, has led to the arrest of 46-year-old Edward Jenkins, who now faces manslaughter charges in connection with the death of 34-year-old Levi Mobley Jr.

According to the Port Gibson Police Department (PGPD), officers were dispatched around 2:12 p.m. to the 100 block of Woodstock Road following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered Levi Mobley Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, Mobley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police quickly identified Edward Jenkins at the location and took him into custody after a preliminary investigation.
