In Loving Memory of David – One of Our Beloved Old Coots

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of one of our cherished Old Coots, David. His loss has left a quiet stillness in our hearts and an empty seat at the table that can never be truly filled. For those who knew him, David wasn’t just a regular – he was family, a fixture of warmth, humor, and wisdom in our lives.

David was the kind of person whose presence could light up even the dullest mornings. With a mug of coffee in hand and that familiar twinkle in his eye, he brought laughter, thoughtful conversation, and the occasional debate that always ended in a handshake or a smile. He was sharp, spirited, and wonderfully stubborn in all the best ways — a true “Old Coot” in name and in heart.

More than that, David was a man of quiet depth and generosity. He listened with intent, shared stories that could make you laugh or tear up, and never missed a chance to help someone in need. He carried a lifetime of experience with humility and grace, offering perspective when it mattered and encouragement when it was needed most.

To honor his life, we invite everyone who knew David — whether through the Old Coots’ table, the neighborhood, or just passing chats on the sidewalk — to join us this Saturday for a gathering in his memory. Let’s come together to share stories, laugh at the good times, shed a few tears, and most importantly, celebrate the legacy of a man who meant so much to so many.

Celebration of Life for David

Come as you are, or wear something that reminds you of David — maybe a favorite flannel, a ballcap, or anything with character.

We know David wouldn’t want anyone to fuss, but he sure would want everyone together, sharing a laugh, swapping stories, and keeping the spirit of the Old Coots alive.

David may be gone from this world, but he lives on in the conversations we carry forward, the friendships he helped forge, and the countless lives he touched along the way. Let’s raise a cup (or a glass) in his honor this Saturday and keep his memory burning bright.

Rest easy, dear friend. We’ll miss you always — but we’ll never forget you.

With love,

The Old Coots & Friends
