ALBANY, NY — The Albany Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 13, 2025, on Sherman Street near Lexington Avenue, which left a 30-year-old woman injured.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a woman inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Emergency medical personnel quickly responded to the scene and provided life-saving care before transporting the victim to Albany Medical Center Hospital. Authorities report that her injuries are non-life-threatening, and she is currently being treated.
Initial findings from the investigation reveal that the woman was seated inside a vehicle in the 100 block of Sherman Street when the shooting occurred. The motive behind the incident remains unclear, and no arrests have been made at this time.
