ROSEVILLE, CA — August 4, 2025 — A swift response to a horrifying crime unfolded this evening in Roseville as Placer County Sheriff’s deputies raced to the scene of an attempted rape at Dry Creek Park, leading to both the successful arrest of a suspect and a traffic collision that resulted in minor injuries.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched with lights and sirens following a report of an attempted sexual assault involving an adult victim. The distress call came from Dry Creek Park, a well-frequented recreational area that quickly became the center of an intensive law enforcement operation.
While en route to assist with setting up a perimeter and actively searching for the perpetrator, a patrol unit consisting of two deputies was involved in a traffic collision. The crash occurred at the intersection of Baseline Road and Walerga Road—an area known for heavy evening traffic. According to early reports, the patrol vehicle collided with another vehicle during the high-speed response.
The Roseville Fire Department and American Medical Response (AMR) paramedics quickly arrived on scene. One of the deputies involved in the crash, along with the civilian driver of the other vehicle, sustained what have been described as minor injuries. Both individuals were transported to a nearby medical facility for evaluation and treatment. Thankfully, no life-threatening injuries were reported.
