Live Oak, CA – With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, the family and friends of Timothy Daniel, 61, mourn his tragic passing following a devastating motorcycle accident on Wednesday morning, July 30, 2025. Timothy, a longtime resident of Live Oak in Sutter County, lost his life after being struck by a car on Highway 99 while riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle home from his job as a mechanic.
According to his stepdaughter, Katey Chapman, Timothy had just completed his night shift at Farmers’ Rice Cooperative in West Sacramento and was heading home when the collision occurred. Around 8:45 a.m., a Nissan Rogue traveling southbound attempted to turn left onto Bogue Road, on the southern edge of Yuba City, directly into the path of Timothy’s northbound motorcycle. The impact of the crash threw Timothy from his bike. He was transported to a nearby hospital where, despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
This sudden and tragic loss has devastated the Daniel family and left a gaping void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. In the wake of his passing, an online GoFundMe fundraiser was launched to assist with funeral expenses and provide support for Timothy’s grieving wife. By Monday afternoon, over $2,000 had already been raised toward a $10,000 goal, with donations pouring in from friends, family, coworkers, and kind-hearted strangers touched by his story.
“He was humorous, kind, and exceptionally diligent, always willing to help others or share a joke to uplift someone’s spirits,” reads a heartfelt message on the fundraising page. “Whether you knew him for years or just a brief moment, you experienced his warmth, generosity, and profound love for those around him.”
Born and raised in Hallwood, a small town in Yuba County, Timothy had deep roots in the region. He was known not only for his mechanical skills but for his unwavering dedication to his family and his zest for life. Outside of work, he loved being outdoors—he was an avid golfer, fisherman, and above all, a devoted motorcycle enthusiast. For over 20 years, Timothy had been a careful and passionate rider, someone who cherished the freedom of the open road while always riding with respect and caution.
His stepdaughter spoke of how Timothy’s example reshaped her understanding of road safety and motorcycles:
“He was a very cautious and passionate rider… I’ve learned to always be on the lookout for motorcycles whenever I’m driving and to exercise caution around them. It is essential for people to learn to share the road.”
Timothy’s legacy is one of hard work, loyalty, laughter, and love—a man who touched the lives of many and whose memory will live on through the countless stories shared by those who knew him. As his family continues to navigate this unimaginable loss, they have expressed gratitude for the outpouring of community support during this difficult time.
He is survived by his loving wife, stepchildren including Katey Chapman, extended family members, close friends, and coworkers who admired and respected him deeply.
Those who wish to support the Daniel family during this time can visit the GoFundMe page to donate or leave a message of condolence.
May Timothy Daniel rest in eternal peace. He will be forever remembered, forever missed, and forever loved.
