It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the untimely passing of Drezden Bolin-Hitchens, a cherished student at Pike County Career Technology Center (Pike CTC). Drezden tragically lost his life in a fatal car accident on Route 23 yesterday, leaving his family, friends, classmates, and teachers in deep mourning.
Drezden was more than just a student — he was a bright and driven young man who embodied the values of hard work, curiosity, and resilience. A dedicated and passionate learner, he was excelling in the HVAC program, where he had found not just a trade, but a true calling. Drezden had been preparing to return to Pike CTC this fall as a senior, and he was well on his way to building a promising future in a field he loved.
His instructors and peers remember him not only for his strong work ethic and talent, but also for his positive attitude, lively spirit, and the kindness he shared with those around him. Drezden brought energy to every classroom he entered. Whether working on a hands-on project, helping a classmate, or sharing a laugh in the hallway, he made an impression that will not be forgotten.
This loss has deeply affected the entire Pike CTC family. In times of such unimaginable grief, the strength of our community lies in the way we come together to support one another. To help our students and staff navigate this difficult time, counselors will be available on-site today at Pike CTC. We encourage anyone who is struggling or in need of someone to talk to, to please reach out—no one has to carry this pain alone.
To the family of Drezden Bolin-Hitchens, we extend our most heartfelt condolences. Please know that your son left an incredible mark on this community, and he will always be remembered with love, admiration, and respect.
Rest in Peace, Drezden.
Your time here was far too short, but your light continues to shine through the many lives you touched. We will miss your laughter, your drive, and your big heart—but we will carry your memory with us, always.
