August 7, 2025 — DeSoto Police Department responded to a shooting incident that occurred around 4:15 PM in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant located in the 900 block of North Interstate Highway 35-E service road.
According to early reports from a caller, the victim, an adult female, was shot in the left leg by another motorist during what appears to be a road rage incident. Officers arrived promptly and are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.
The injured woman was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, her injuries are reported as non-life-threatening.
The suspect, described as an adult female, fled the scene shortly after the shooting. Witnesses report the suspect left in a tan sedan.
The DeSoto Police Department is urging anyone who may have information about this incident to come forward. Individuals with details are encouraged to contact the department at (469) 658-3050.
Captain G. Kirkland, Patrol Division, confirmed the ongoing investigation and assured the community that every effort is being made to bring the suspect into custody.
