Ponchatoula Man Arrested on 60 Child Pornography Charges Following ICAC Task Force Investigation

PONCHATOULA, La. — A Ponchatoula man has been arrested on dozens of child pornography charges following an investigation by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Sheriff Daniel Edwards announced that Aaron Jiles, 32, was taken into custody this week and booked on 60 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of 13.

According to TPSO, the investigation began last month after the ICAC Unit received information about the uploading of Child Sexual Assault Materials (CSAM) on a social media platform. Detectives traced the activity back to Jiles, identifying him as the individual responsible for publishing the content.

After securing a warrant for his arrest, investigators executed the operation with assistance from the Ponchatoula Police Department. Following Jiles’s apprehension, law enforcement conducted an analysis of his electronic devices, uncovering evidence that led to the formal filing of 60 separate counts.

Sheriff Edwards credited the arrest to the coordinated efforts of multiple agencies, noting that this investigation is part of TPSO’s ongoing partnership with Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office through the ICAC Task Force. This initiative involves collaboration among numerous local and state law enforcement agencies to target individuals exploiting children online.

“Protecting our children from predators is one of our highest priorities,” TPSO officials said in a statement. “We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of our ICAC Unit and for the assistance provided by the Ponchatoula Police Department.”

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges could be filed pending further forensic analysis.

Anyone with information related to online child exploitation is urged to contact the TPSO ICAC Task Force or report tips anonymously through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) at 1-800-THE-LOST.

Do you want me to also prepare a short, law-enforcement-style press release version so it reads exactly like an official agency update? That would make it more suitable for immediate publication.
