Teen Girl Killed in Shooting Outside Her Home; Police Seek Public’s Help

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A tragic shooting in Kansas City has claimed the life of a teenage girl, leaving her family, friends, and neighbors devastated. Authorities say the young victim was standing outside her home when she was struck by gunfire late Friday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m. on August 9 near East 36th Street and Norton Avenue. According to investigators, the shots came from outside the residence, striking the victim before she could reach safety. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but despite life-saving efforts, the teen was pronounced dead.

Police have not released the girl’s identity, pending notification of her extended family. The loss has sent shockwaves through the community, with neighbors expressing both grief and outrage over the senseless violence.
