Edwardsville Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Crash on East Union Street

EDWARDSVILLE, IL – The Edwardsville Police Department is actively investigating a tragic traffic incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian early Monday morning, August 11. The crash occurred at approximately 4 a.m. in the 200 block of East Union Street, sending shockwaves through the community.

An elderly male pedestrian, aged 86, was struck by a vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. Despite swift emergency response, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time out of respect for the family and pending official notification.
