The Covington Police Department has announced the arrest of 42-year-old Jesse Hernandez in connection with an aggravated statutory rape investigation. The department’s Criminal Investigation Division began probing the case after receiving a report on July 19 regarding alleged inappropriate sexual relations between Hernandez and a 16-year-old female.
According to police reports, the alleged incident took place at Hernandez’s residence located on Holly Grove Road in Covington. During the investigation, Hernandez was interviewed by authorities, during which he reportedly admitted to involvement in the incident.
As a result of the investigation and the admissions made, Hernandez has been formally charged with Aggravated Statutory Rape and Solicitation / Exploitation of a Minor by Electronic Means.
Following his arrest, Hernandez was booked into the Tipton County Jail with bond set at $150,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 19 to face the charges brought against him.
