With hearts broken but full of love, we share the deeply sorrowful news that Chandler Joseph Hoover, lovingly known as “Chan Man,” age 20, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from injuries sustained in a tragic car accident.
Born on February 17, 2005, in Muskegon to Rachael Weinert and Eric Hoover, Chandler was a devoted son to the community he called home. A 2023 graduate of Reeths-Puffer High School, Chandler was diligently working alongside his stepdad, Jeremy Griffin, at R & R Landscape and Supply, all while pursuing a vocational certificate in Residential and Commercial Construction. His work ethic and ambition reflected the young man’s determination to build a meaningful future.
Chandler was a young man who worked hard, laughed often, and loved deeply. His happiest moments were spent outdoors, whether tearing up trails on his dirt bike, cruising snowy paths on his snowmobile, or enjoying spirited drives behind the wheel of his Audi, sharing adventures with friends from the Audi Club. Whether navigating rugged trails in winter, hiking the woods, hunting, fishing, or simply hanging out, Chandler infused every experience with his unique blend of humor, loyalty, and unwavering determination.
He leaves behind a loving family who cherished him dearly — his mother and stepdad, Rachael and Jeremy Griffin; his father, Eric Hoover; his sister, Morgyn (Star Guevara) Weinert; his stepbrother, Barrett Griffin; grandmothers, Sue Weinert and Susan Pearson; aunts and uncles Darren & Christy Brandt, John & Shanna Mabrito, and Melissa Hoover; and cousins Caleb, Allie, Christian, Matt, Mark, Carly, and Nick. Chandler’s best friend, Cole Rust, and his faithful White German Shepherd, Bentley, also feel the profound loss of a brother and loyal companion. Chandler was welcomed into heaven by his grandfathers, Larry Weinert and Joseph Hoover, who undoubtedly embraced him with open arms.
Chandler’s laughter, grit, and boundless love will be deeply missed every single day by all who knew him.
A Funeral Service to honor Chandler’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 15, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Pastor Jeremy Wegner will officiate the service. Visitation will take place one hour prior, beginning at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, those who loved Chandler are encouraged to hug their loved ones tightly, take that ride they’ve been dreaming of, laugh a little louder, and live life with the fearless spirit that Chandler embodied — full throttle. His legacy is one of passion, joy, and unrelenting zest for life that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
