In 1968, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree and married his high school sweetheart, Martha Tip Stuart, beginning what would become a remarkable 56-year marriage.

Pursuing a calling in medicine, Don earned his Master of Anatomy from the University of Mississippi in Jackson in 1971, then entered the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry, where he graduated first in his class in 1975 with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD). During his dental school years, he and Martha Tip welcomed their two daughters, Elizabeth and Amanda, into their growing family.

Following dental school, Don served with distinction as a Captain in the U.S. Army, practicing dentistry at Fort Knox, Kentucky, for two and a half years. In 1977, he returned to Mississippi and settled in Kosciusko, where he began a dental career that would span more than four decades. In 1991, he founded Autumn Ridge Dental, a practice that became synonymous with compassionate, expert care and enduring relationships. Don cherished the many patients who entrusted their smiles to him and took great pride in the bonds he formed through his work.

Beyond his professional life, Don was a cornerstone of the Kosciusko community. He served on the Chamber of Commerce, the Kosciusko School District school board, the Lions Club, and was even named King of the Junior Auxiliary Charity Ball—a role he wore with both humility and humor.

A man of deep and abiding faith, Don was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Kosciusko for 48 years, serving faithfully as a deacon, committee member, and choir singer. His passion for music was evident in his joyful participation in church worship and as a member of the gospel quartet Proclamation. Those who heard Don sing knew that his voice reflected the joy and strength of his spirit.

In his personal life, Don was a man who found peace in the outdoors. He found joy in running, biking, golfing, and working in his yard. His farm, affectionately known as “The Piddlin’ Place,” was his retreat—where he planted, played, and reflected.

Don leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in his family: his devoted wife, Martha Tip; his daughters, Elizabeth Weaver Livingston (Ricky) of Franklin, TN, and Amanda Weaver Long (Chad) of Tupelo, MS; and his six adored grandchildren: Thomas, Pharris, and Lydia Livingston and Sarah Elizabeth, Stuart, and Catherine Long. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Quinten Weaver, and his sister, Ira Elaine Lee.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Kosciusko, with the funeral service immediately following at 12:00 p.m.

At approximately 4:15 a.m., CHP officers responded to the scene of a reported crash on eastbound SR-24, just west of Pleasant Hill Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a black Toyota sedan that had veered off the roadway and collided with multiple trees located on the south side of the highway.

According to preliminary findings, the vehicle was being driven by an adult male, who was the sole occupant. For reasons still under investigation, the Toyota left the right shoulder of the freeway, causing the car to strike trees and suffer severe damage. ATTALA COUNTY, Miss. — July 25, 2025 — The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) is investigating a fatal crash involving two 18-wheelers and a passenger vehicle that occurred Friday on Highway 12, near the Holmes County line in Attala County. The deadly incident claimed the lives of 67-year-old Rosquette Raul of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, and 45-year-old John Headges, Jr. of Kilmichael, Mississippi.

The crash, which took place in the afternoon hours, involved a 2008 Volvo tractor-trailer driven by Rosquette Raul, a Freightliner truck operated by John Headges, Jr., and a Toyota passenger car driven by a minor from Lexington, Mississippi.

According to MHP investigators, Rosquette Raul was traveling eastbound on Highway 12 in the Volvo tractor-trailer. Just ahead of him, also traveling eastbound, was the Toyota driven by the juvenile. Coming from the opposite direction, westbound on the same highway, was the Freightliner driven by John Headges, Jr.

The Freightliner reportedly collided head-on with the Volvo in a devastating impact. The force of the crash pushed Raul’s Volvo into the eastbound Toyota, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision that instantly turned deadly.

Medina, OH — The Medina Police Department is releasing details surrounding a series of related incidents that occurred on the night of Friday, July 25, 2025, culminating in a shooting and the subsequent arrest of 33-year-old David J. Oberacker, a Medina resident.

At approximately 10:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Circle Drive following a report of criminal damaging. The caller stated that David J. Oberacker, an individual known to her, had smashed the rear window of her vehicle and fled the area on foot. Officers detained him at the scene and recovered a 9mm handgun in his possession. Oberacker received treatment for his injuries and was placed under arrest.

Following his arrest, detectives launched a coordinated investigation at both the Circle Drive and Baxter Street locations. Search warrants were executed, and investigators collected critical physical evidence, including:
