BOYNTON BEACH, FL — A violent and harrowing carjacking incident that unfolded in January 2024 has come to a close with the sentencing of 22-year-old Evandole Lusane, who was sentenced to 20 years in the Florida Department of Corrections after accepting a plea agreement.

The case stems from a terrifying armed carjacking and kidnapping involving a Lyft driver, who was forced at gunpoint to withdraw money and threatened with death. The ordeal began on the morning of January 11, 2024, after the driver picked up two passengers in Lake Worth, Florida.

Shortly after the ride began, one of the passengers exited the vehicle near East Palm Drive and North Seacrest Boulevard in Boynton Beach. The second individual—later identified as Evandole Lusane—remained in the car. That’s when the situation turned from routine to life-threatening.

According to authorities, Lusane brandished a firearm and forced the driver to comply with a series of dangerous and terrifying demands. He ordered the victim to drive to two separate Bank of America locations, withdrawing a total of approximately $1,000 in cash while pointing the gun at the victim and issuing threats.

The situation escalated further when the pair stopped at a 7-Eleven convenience store, where Lusane made a purchase. Still holding the driver hostage, Lusane then directed the vehicle to the Hypoluxo Scrub Trail in Lantana. There, he shoved the firearm into the driver’s neck, chillingly telling him:

“I know where you live. If you go to the police, I will kill you and your family.”

Fearing for his life, the victim seized an opportunity to escape on foot and contacted the Lantana Police Department. The case was promptly handed over to the Boynton Beach Police Department, who launched an immediate investigation.

Breakthrough in the Case

Later that evening, Boynton Beach detectives successfully tracked the victim’s vehicle to 3001 N. Seacrest Blvd in West Palm Beach. Lusane was located and arrested near an ATM inside a nearby store. Surveillance footage confirmed that Lusane used the victim’s debit card at the ATM. When presented with a photo lineup, the victim immediately identified Lusane as the assailant who held him at gunpoint.

•Robbery with a firearm

•Aggravated assault with a firearm

𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞, 𝐅𝐋 –A man with a disturbing criminal past is back behind bars after 55-year-old Timmothy Hall was arrested by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) over the weekend in connection with an attempted child abduction and indecent exposure case out of Daytona Beach.

Hall was identified by the Daytona Beach Police Department as the suspect in a July 11 incident at a local store, where he allegedly exposed himself to a child and attempted to grab the victim by the arm. Thankfully, the child managed to break free, and no physical injuries were reported. Hall fled the scene before authorities arrived.

Following the incident, Daytona Beach detectives developed leads indicating Hall may have fled to Jacksonville. Assistance was requested from JSO and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, which includes Jacksonville officers.

On Saturday evening, JSO officers located Hall in the Arlington neighborhood, sitting in a vehicle. With coordinated support from the JSO Aviation Unit and K-9 officers, police conducted a felony takedown, taking Timmothy Hall into custody without incident.

Hall’s criminal history raises serious concern. In 2010, he was arrested in Hillsborough County for lewd or lascivious exhibition involving a minor under the age of 16. At the time, Hall worked as a medical assistant at the Duval County Jail, a position he resigned from following his arrest. He was subsequently classified as a registered sex offender.

Now facing fresh charges tied to this most recent offense—including attempted kidnapping and indecent exposure—Hall remains in custody and is expected to be transferred to Daytona Beach authorities for prosecution.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office commended the collaborative effort that led to Hall’s arrest:

“Thanks to the hard work of our officers and the support from the Daytona Beach Police Department and U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, we were able to remove a dangerous individual from the streets. Timmothy Hall will now face the justice system once again.”

Santa Rosa, CA – Authorities in Santa Rosa have arrested 35-year-old Shaylynne Watson and 54-year-old Beverly Hansel in connection with a deeply troubling case involving the fentanyl exposure of an 11-month-old baby girl. The child, who miraculously survived the incident, was exposed to the deadly opioid while under Watson’s supervision at Hansel’s apartment.

The Santa Rosa Police Department responded to a hospital around 3:40 a.m. on July 14, 2025, after being alerted to a possible drug exposure involving the infant. Investigators later learned that the child had likely been exposed to fentanyl hours earlier—around 7:00 p.m. the night before—while at Hansel’s residence.

According to police, Hansel administered Narcan, the life-saving overdose reversal medication, after the baby began showing signs of distress. However, in a critical lapse of responsibility, neither Hansel nor Watson called 911, and the baby was not transported to the hospital until well after midnight—nearly five hours after the initial exposure.

Following an investigation by Santa Rosa detectives, both women were arrested and face the following charges:

• Shaylynne Watson: Felony Child Endangerment
• Beverly Hansel: Felony Child Endangerment and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Police say drug paraphernalia was found at Hansel’s residence, suggesting that illegal narcotics were present in close proximity to the child. The precise way in which the infant was exposed remains under investigation, though law enforcement officials describe the circumstances as both dangerous and preventable.

The baby girl, whose name has not been released, is now recovering. Her current medical condition has not been publicly disclosed. Child Protective Services is actively involved and will determine the appropriate steps to ensure the child’s long-term safety.

The arrests of Watson and Hansel have triggered widespread concern across the Santa Rosa community and raised new alarms about the growing threat fentanyl poses to even the youngest and most vulnerable.

“This child was lucky to survive,” said one police spokesperson. “The failure to seek emergency help in a timely manner could have cost her life. It’s an absolute tragedy that could have been prevented.”

Authorities are urging the public to remain alert and to report suspected child neglect or drug activity, especially in homes where children are present. Quick action can save lives.
