It is with deep sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of a tragic accident that has affected The school community. A student from district passed away in a car accident last night. This sudden loss has left many of us in shock and sorrow, and our hearts go out to the student’s family, friends, classmates, and all those whose lives were touched by their presence.
The impact of this tragedy is being felt throughout the schools, and we recognize that moments like this are incredibly difficult to process—especially for young people who are learning how to navigate grief. During this time, it is essential that we come together with compassion and care for one another.
To help support our students and staff, counseling services are available. Anyone in need of emotional support, whether now or in the days ahead, is encouraged to contact Tammy Kugler at tkugler@richmondspartans.org for access to school-based counseling and resources.
We urge families to have open conversations with their children, encourage them to talk about their feelings, and remind them that it’s okay to seek help. Everyone experiences grief differently, and there is no right or wrong way to mourn. What matters most is that no one has to go through this alone.
As a school district, we remain committed to supporting each other during this incredibly difficult time. We encourage everyone to look out for one another—whether it’s checking in with a friend, reaching out to a teacher, or simply offering a kind word.
This student’s life, while cut tragically short, left an undeniable mark on our community. In their memory, let’s continue to foster a culture of empathy, support, and togetherness.
Please take care of yourselves and each other.
We are here for you—today and always.
