  • This Is Texas Strong

    This Is Texas Strong

In the heart of Kerrville, where floodwaters once tore through homes and hearts alike, something powerful is rising from the wreckage—community.

Families, neighbors, strangers—people from all walks of life—are standing shoulder to shoulder in the very streets that just days ago were swallowed by devastation. They’ve come together not for a celebration, but for a solemn and sacred purpose: to honor, to remember, and to say the names of the lives lost.

More than 130 souls have been confirmed dead in this unimaginable tragedy. Many of them were children, whose summers were supposed to be filled with laughter, not loss. Their names now echo through church halls, community centers, and open skies as candles are lit and hands are held tight. The grief is raw. The silence, often louder than any words. But in that silence, a deep, shared love endures.

This is not just a town in mourning. This is Texas Strong.

Because here, when the world feels like it’s falling apart, people don’t run away—they run toward each other.

Volunteers, many of whom lost everything themselves, are handing out water and warm meals. Local businesses have turned into shelters and donation hubs. Teenagers are wading through the mud to help elderly neighbors recover lost memories. Pastors are praying with firefighters. Teachers are comforting parents. And strangers are now friends, bonded by heartbreak and hope.

Kerrville is hurting—but it is not broken.

Now, the town needs something more. They need our prayers.

Not just once. Not just tonight. But every day as they rebuild what was lost—homes, schools, places of worship, and the lives they cherished.

🙏 Please, join them in prayer.

Pray for comfort for grieving families.

Pray for strength for first responders.

Pray for healing, for peace, for mercy.

And pray that we, as a nation, do not forget them once the cameras are gone.

Because in the face of overwhelming sorrow, they are still standing.

    And they are standing together.

That’s what it means to be Texas Strong.

  • When the waters rose and chaos surged across Texas, they came—not for recognition, not for reward, but because that’s who they are.

When the waters rose and chaos surged across Texas, they came—not for recognition, not for reward, but because that’s who they are.

They loaded up their boats, their gear, their hope. They drove for miles, into darkness, into floodwaters, into heartbreak. These are the kinds of people who don’t ask “Why?” or “What’s in it for me?” They ask, “Who needs help?”

And they showed up—just like they always do.

These brave volunteers, many of whom have full-time jobs, families of their own, and homes that have seen storms too, dropped everything. They came to Texas to search through debris, wade through dangerous currents, hold the hands of strangers, and recover what the flood tried to steal. Not just belongings or structures—but people. Loved ones. Memories. Dignity.

And when one of their teams made a devastating discovery—something no human being should have to witness—they didn’t post pictures. They didn’t speak in detail. They didn’t ask for money, praise, or press.

    They asked for prayers.

    That was it.

In that quiet plea, they reminded us that even the strongest can break under the weight of what they carry. That even the helpers, the rescuers, the warriors of compassion—need lifting, too.

    Now it’s our turn.

To show up for them the way they showed up for us.

    To flood them with light.

    With gratitude.

With the same selfless love they pour into every rescue.

    Let’s answer that call. 🙏

To the Cajun Navy—thank you for your bravery, your heart, and your enduring kindness.

Thank you for giving so much of yourselves in our darkest hours.

May you find comfort, peace, and strength in the days ahead.

We see you. We’re with you. We’ve got you.

If you’ve been touched by their work or moved by their example, leave a message. Send your love. Share a story. Let’s remind these everyday heroes they are not alone.

They came when we needed them.

    Now, they need us.
