We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Linda Moffat, one of the beloved founders of our organization.
Her vision, passion, and tireless efforts gave life and inspiration to our organization and helped shape the library into the vibrant community hub it is today.
Her legacy is woven into every corner of our space. From the first brick to the final bookshelf, Linda’s vision was present. Her passion for lifelong learning, access to knowledge, and community connection set the tone for everything we’ve become. She didn’t simply advocate for a library — she reimagined what it could be, and then she worked tirelessly to bring that dream to life.
Linda played a vital role in one of the most transformative chapters in our history: the library’s relocation to its new and expanded home. This was more than a move — it was a redefinition of our purpose, and she ensured that the transition was not only seamless but also imbued with meaning. Her unwavering support and leadership during this time ensured the library didn’t just change addresses — it evolved into something even greater.
If we, as a community, are all Friends of the Library, then Linda Moffat was without question the greatest Friend of all. Her life was a testament to the power of vision, the strength of commitment, and the beauty of service. She gave so much, asked for little, and left behind a legacy that will endure for generations.
For now, we hold her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her in our hearts. And we say, with gratitude and affection:
Thank you, Linda. For everything.
