  • Texas Woman Arrested in Alleged Plot to Kill Ex-Husband Using Fentanyl-Laced Chocolates

Texas Woman Arrested in Alleged Plot to Kill Ex-Husband Using Fentanyl-Laced Chocolates

PARKER COUNTY, TX — A chilling murder-for-hire plot has been foiled after an investigation by the Parker County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Special Crimes Unit led to the arrest of 63-year-old Pamela Jean Stanley. The Coleman County woman now faces multiple felony charges after allegedly conspiring to kill her ex-husband in a calculated and disturbing scheme.

According to law enforcement officials, Stanley was recorded discussing her plan in detail with an acquaintance, outlining her intent to purchase powdered fentanyl and use it as a murder weapon. Authorities say she intended to inject the drug into a box of luxury chocolates and send it to her ex-husband under the guise of a celebratory gift—allegedly tied to his recent engagement.

Investigators report that Stanley traveled several hours from her home in Coleman to Parker County with the intention of soliciting what she believed to be fentanyl. Upon her arrival, she was taken into custody. In her possession, deputies found 9.5 grams of methamphetamine. Authorities believe she had intended to use the meth for trafficking purposes.

“This is one of the most calculated and chilling murder-for-hire plots we’ve encountered in recent years,” said Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier. “The suspect went to extraordinary lengths to disguise a deadly plot as an innocent and thoughtful gesture. Thanks to swift action by our Special Crimes Unit, we were able to intervene before any harm was done.”

Stanley has been formally charged with:

    • Criminal Solicitation with Intent to Commit Murder
    • Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder
    • Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver

The investigation remains active, and authorities are exploring any additional individuals who may have been involved or aware of the scheme.

The sheriff’s office emphasized that while the motive appears to be rooted in personal and emotional turmoil following the couple’s separation, the actions taken by Stanley represented a deliberate and lethal threat.

She is currently being held in the Parker County Jail. Bond and court appearance details have not yet been released.

Law enforcement officials have reiterated the importance of community vigilance and encouraged anyone with information related to this case to contact PCSO.

As this case unfolds, it serves as a stark reminder of the dark consequences of unresolved conflict and the critical role that local authorities play in preventing targeted violence.
